Another brand new bovine baby ....

Must be Sunday ! When I went to feed the outside cows, B33 , who has been looking ready to calve for days had eventually produced a muckle big bull calf .
She had summer mastitis last year and her front left tit looks like it is stuffed. Guess which one Junior was busy trying to latch on to .
So came back in , finished feeding everything else, got a pen ready, shut all the yard gates and headed out with the bike to bring them in. By the time I got there it was busy sooking the back right, so left them to it !
Spent the rest of the morning bagging up sheep feed then another batch of cattle stuff.
Took Littlemiss to check cows this evening and M24, a mate of the one that had twins and was very maternal last week, had calved in the rushes. Could see from a distance that the calf was up and in sucking ok so left them well alone and retreated under her watchful eye.
The wind has fairly picked up as it’s getting dark and it is feeling a bit Baltic again. Stove is now lit again !
