Simnals

Easter Sunday and we've finally cut into the simnal cake.  I enjoyed mine with coffee and a fine armagnac - cheers!

Cathy had been lobbying for an earlier start to eating the cake yesterday, but I managed to persuade her (eventually) to wait for the proper day.  I am sure it tasted all the better for waiting that extra 24 hours.

This morning Jess had us in fits with her and her boyfriend's take on Salome with the head of John the Baptist which really was quite excellent.  I know that other blippers have had a go at this remake a master malarkey - youoregon1 has done several fine efforts for example.  I keep meaning to have a go myself ....


The other thing that had us hooting with laughter over our breakfast this morning was my sister Janet as Frieda Karlo and Incredibish as Stinky Pete - uncannily accurate lookey like-ies for both of them :-)
