My BET friends had bought be 2 tickets to see Simon Reeve at the Palladium in a box. I was so excited.

My best mate and I went into town, played crazy golf at Swingers, coffee'd in Carnaby Street, played pool in Soho and then took our seats for a lovely night of my hero Simon.

He talked of his dark times as a teenager, his break after 9/11 when people finally noticed his hugely important book on the Taliban, and the people and lessons he had experienced on his journeys.

He's a brave man, and so humble and personable too. An inspiration.
