A fair bit o' watter in t'beck.

She who must be obeyed was getting stir-crazy and, practically, begged we set foot over the threshold despite the rain: which had totally removed any visible signs of the meagre 3-4" of yesterday's snow.
It was a toss-up 'twixt the "backside" of Thirlmere and Castlerigg circle.

Since I've seen a Blip or three of Castlerigg in the last year or so I shot off down St.John's Vale B4 we reached the other turn.
Up "this" side and back down "yon" side seemed to make sense, with the down-side being that any I missed on the way up I'd not see on the way back.

A close contender was 12-18" of fir stump which had once been a tree. Blown over to lie down-slope. Somebody had removed the tree and left the root-pan sticking up like a sloping, commemorative plaque. What had once been the lower surface is now inhabited by a small grove of young conifers.
There are signs of ongoing logging farther down the lake, I hope they don't just strip it to bare as seems often the trend.

With a raging micro-torrent like that, which of you could resist another try at the old "Fluffy Water"?
