Extremes
Of days like this, one often hears "we had all four seasons in one day". The seemingly benign view in the image of blue sky and puffy white clouds, belies how windy it was and, for the most part, the day had been cold, cloudy and threatening. But at some point during the afternoon, the clouds broke and sunshine streaked over the landscape. An hour later, hail flew horizontally outside the window, coating one side of the tree trunks white. I didn't feel like braving that, although it would have made a good shot.
I experimented with a polariser for this photograph which seems to have enhanced the blue sky and yellow reeds. However, I think because of the wide angle, the exposure in the top corners was noticeably darker and required some adjustment.
