The incumbent magnolia is looking great at the moment.  (The other one, which we planted last year, is being a bit more of a sulky teenager).

A day of mud pies - otherwise known as layering the Garden Railway pond / river / lake / minor ocean with concrete.  It doesn't need it for waterproofing but I'm after getting this effect again.
