Bike weather

Another relaxing day of pottering, phone calls
with friends and cooking. I made some tortilla soup for lunch which we all enjoyed in the garden. I went on a bike ride this afternoon. I found that the local forest trails have been closed to bikes so I looped back around to a new park which was still open. It’s was once the Transport Research Laboratory site where they tested road surfaces and the like. Since developing the site for housing and recreation they have kept some of the original features like this tower. A scene from the film Quadrophenia was filmed on the site in 1979 and the Sinclair c5 was also tested there! I came across a lady and her daughter frantically looking for her two small boys in the woods and I had seen them so I tried to help. They did get reunited after a short time which was a relief. Anyway it was good to back on my wheels again. Home for a BBQ and a glass of wine.
