Sketch

When he first saw her, he was so struck by the rightness of her pose that he wasted no time in getting it down on paper. It was only after safely trapping it in a quick scribble that he submitted to the niceties of introductions and small talk. He would have ample time to work the sketch up into a finished piece.

But, however hard he tried, he could never again quite manage to capture, to his complete satisfaction, that precise moment.
