Another early walk this morning - not many folk around at 6:30!
The heavy rain earlier in the year left huge areas of fields underwater. Most of the floods have drained away but this field has retained a large amount of water - which is only very slowly receding - presumably evaporating rather than draining! Today I noticed this plant still standing proud in the puddle - surrounded by stalks of former comrades. I liked the simple shapes and reflections.
Spoilt for choice today - walking in the woods I was being watched (extra 1) and a woodpecker (extra 2) had found a particularly effective tree to drum against, it was very loud. Finally I found some lovely fresh sycamore leaves emerging from buds (extra 3).
Two batches of soup made this morning - mushroom and then carrot & coriander. Lunches sorted for the next week!
