The flatlands of Halsall Moss

Our restricted walks have taken to places we wouldn't normally walk to, usually preferring the beach or the woodlands. The land directly inland of Ainsdale is wonderful farmland - the moss - magnificent deep brown peaty soil which grows potatoes, corn, wheat, rape, beans - basically anything that the farmers plant. Several tractors were hard at work preparing the land for the next crop - and we are thankful that these guys are still working hard to grow food as we are no doubt going to need it!
