more nest building

I am having a lucky year in my garden and it couldn't have come at a better time. Today I spotted that the wren is nesting in an ivy, covering a fence at the side of the house and the goldfinch was collecting web material, so they are not far away (in extra). Being confined to the garden does allow you to be more aware of the detail in the daily activity.
My garden nesting count now, taken in a clockwise order, is wren, blue tit, robin, blackbird and wood pigeon.

This evening's another virtual dinner party VDP. This time I cooked the meal, prawn jambalaya followed by lemon meringue ice cream. I put 2 servings in takeaway dishes (Lesley antibac wiped everything) placed them in our porch and friends from a few streets away came and picked them up (and duly left a bottle of wine). We then sat at the table with iPad opposite and enjoyed the meal with them. After a little while (a few glasses) it felt like everyone was really in the room. 4 hours later, a lot of laughs and too much wine it was definitely a case of leave the dishes until the morning.

We are having our 3rd VDP in a row on Saturday. This socialising and busy days is exhausting :-)
