Simple Pleasures

Well yes, today's photo is the same, almost, as yesterday's, but then, so was my day - only better.  Finally, it is April warm and with no afternoon classes, I spent 2+ hours out and about on campus enjoying the glorious sunshine, the view, and the quiet while getting some much needed exercise and fresh air. By the time I'd fed the campus cats I totaled 10,500+ steps.  As yesterday, in all that time I saw just one other walker.

My favourite person today is Joe who went to the local shop this afternoon and bought stuff for several folk, including me, for whom he bought six beers and several sachets of cat food.  Priorities after a dry week and hungry cats. Harry, Gentle, and daily visitors Persembe, Ferda, Oscar, 2bits, Barney and JD'scat were all very grateful for the latter, as am I for the former.

TGIF at 18:00 with colleagues via zoom and then a couple of hours of this and that before settling down in front of my screen, with a beer, at 21.00 to watch Cosi Fan Tutte, streamed live from the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.  Thank you ROH for this "#our house to your house" series on Friday nights - having just discovered this today, staying home just got a whole lot easier.

Not that I leave campus these days anyway,  but mid evening, there was a government announcement that the entire country is in 48 hour lockdown from midnight tonight keeping people other than those who work in health care and security,  at home and away from public spaces for this predicted very warm weather weekend.
