Bruin Meets Mrs Rabbit

The slow train to Glasgow this morning,
Rolling through stations with memorable names,
Uphall, Armadale, Blackridge, Caldercruix and Drumgelloch,
Airdrie, Coatdyke, Coatbridge and Blairhill
Easterhouse, Garrowhill and Carntyne,
Till we decanted at Belgrove
To walk back to red sandstoned Dennistoun,
With its tenements of fading glory
And memories of better times.

A warm welcome from family,
and Nina, nose pressed to the window,
Waiting to introduce Bruin to Mrs Rabbit.
