NaPoWriMo2020 Day 9

A shadow of life in the UK in 2020:
A queue at the checkout
And at the door, like a snake in the car park
2 metres apart.

And so we go on
the virus to control
us fighting back
doing as we are told
socially distancing 
behaving ourselves
with shadows and shapes
legs and trainers waiting
as we shop for Easter food
a holiday weekend to celebrate
some little treats
chocolate eggs, flowers
make Easter real...

Not just a memory
but a real time too
with memories created
for us to cling to.
