Maundy Thursday, also known as Holy Thursday, Covenant Thursday, Great and Holy Thursday, Sheer Thursday, and Thursday of Mysteries commemorates the Last Supper.

“Maundy" comes from the Latin mandatum, or commandment, reflecting Jesus' words "I give you a new commandment That you love one another”.
