Low Tide

We took a walk down the other side of the road today where the cliff paths wind towards St Peter Port. We walked along past the little fishing harbour of Bec Du Nez where the fishing nets and lobster pots were up out of the water. If you look South from here you can see the tiny bay called Marble Bay, (I have included this in extras). Many of the stones on the beach down there do seem to be resemble marble. It was the most glorious afternoon for a walk, not a breath of wind and the sea had a summer haze. The strangest thing was that there were no boats out on the water. Even in winter there are usually some boats in this area.

The tide was very low and in fact it is an ormering tide. There were several people on the beach looking for the delicacy. There are only certain tides of the year when the Ormer shellfish can be taken from the sea.
