Super Moon
A supermoon happens when the moon reaches the closest point to Earth in its 27-day orbit and it happens to be full, which is occurring now. While the moon will be around 40,000 km closer to Earth, photos of enormous moons in the sky are simply optical illusions. It will not look huge to the naked eye. Although April's moon is called “pink”, this is just a name, like “blue moon”. It only means the April full moon and it still looks silver or yellow-tinged in the sky. This photo is a composite created today of salmon nets in the Solway and a full moon - a black and white negative transformed in Aurora HDR software to colour.
