Different
We changed up our daily exercise today, though we won't do it very often as it was quite busy. But it was a fun variation that allowed us to drop a little parcel off at some friends.
First day of the holidays for Katie but we need to keep some routine, both for our sanity and because I'm still working. Some of her activities have carried on through the holiday to help the children too. So today she did a little bit of school work in her independent study time, as well as some project stuff that we are doing. She's doing a time capsule of the experience, using a journal we found online for it. She's also doing the "Active Coping Calendar" which sets some great daily tasks. Today's was to help a neighbour so she wrote a couple of notes and we prepared homemade flapjack bundles to go with them. She did a ballet class at 11 then did some reading & playing while I had to go to the post office for work and to collect the neighbourhood bread flour order from our refill shop. I dropped that and various things off to Bs house, arriving home in good time to get Katie sorted for her bassoon lesson.
Bassoon lessons are hard on zoom. She's working so well and trying beyond all expectation to do OK with it, but it's tough. Our connection isn't great, the lag is bad and the sound isn't fantastic for B to hear real detail. And obviously they can't play together. Like today, she did some sight-reading. I thought she was doing well, however it seemed like B didn't agree. I'm fact she was trying to communicate how extremely fabulous Katie was doing. She did so very well but Katie and B are both looking forward to the day as soon as possible that her lessons can be changed to garden lessons, even if proper in person lessons are a little way off. B declared it a "full sheet of stickers day" and told Katie she's going to tell the yym director how fantastically she's doing.
I took her straight out for our daily exercise after the lesson because it was then home for zoom ballet. I'm having to really push her to do those classes, she's not loving it because of the usual zoom issues but they're her regular classes so she kind of needs to do them. She was quite grumpy after her ballet lesson but had calmed a bit after the conditioning class.
One day at a time.
