West Sands, St Andrews. Boardwalk No 6.

I really do like to be near the sea, and miss it if I am away for any length of time.

My very first Blipfoto entry was taken on the same day as this one. It had been a toss up between the two.

I have retrieved this image, dusted it down, freshened it up and it is today’s image.

There is nobody in the picture and I imagine there will be very few people there today.

No 6 will be remembered by fans of “The Prisoner". The somewhat enigmatic series was filmed in the Welsh Village of Portmeirion.

Portmeirion has been described as a "fantastic acropolis‘ an architect’s dream fulfilled. The architect was Sir Clough Williams-Ellis.

The Prisoner was played by Patrick McGoohan. The opening sequence featured a British Racing Green Lotus Super Seven.

I did have the opportunity to drive a Super Seven, but I was far too tall to fit in the car.

Portmeirion has another memory for Pat and me. It was where I proposed and she accepted.
