"Wake me when this is over."

Dear Diary,

Lulu has finally discovered Emerson's bed.  For months she preferred a chair or a couch.  Now she naps in the soft confines of this squishy bed and is perfectly content.  She was not so content when all the furniture moving was occurring but after a quiet Sunday she is back to her old self which alternates between fits of the "zoomies" and the sweet oblivion of a nap.  Although I am not prone to zoomies, I do like the occasional nap and sometimes I think the same, "wake me when this is all over!"

DAY SIX:  “The word proprioception refers to our body’s proprioceptive system or sense of movement. Just as the five senses take in information about the outer world and transmit it to our brains, this sense gathers information from the inner world of our bodies. Nerves, called proprioceptors, located in the muscles, joints, and tendons communicate with the brain, orienting the body to its own movement, position, and tone. We smile in response to something without having to think about it.” ~ Linda Trichter Metcalf and Tobin Simon    For today, notice how you move and communicate in response to your environment. Notice also how everything else communicates with you - grasses sway, water ripples, dogs on the hunt, squirrels eating nuts. Be touched by the world around you. What does gesture look like in an age of physical distancing?  My photograph from yesterday's lesson is here...
