Sunday seeding....

Dry and the wind picking up throughout the day.
Cattle fed then the contractor arrived to sow barley in the 43 acre field behind the steading. Loaded him up with seed and left him to it while I went down the road to spread the last couple of loads of nitrogen fertiliser on the barley down there. Had the terrier as navigator for the first load , then Littlemiss joined us for the second load.
It was like a public day out with umpteen cyclists and walkers up and down the roads . So much for staying at home.
Back home then checked calving cows again. G4, a homebred Angus X cow has calved. Calf in sucking so left her well alone as she is another one with an over maternal nature !
Once the seeder was finished and away , I went to roll the field as it is forecast for rain. Took Littlemiss to help lift stones. We had it done by 8 pm then time to bottle feed the twin calves. In for tea by 9 pm , so not a bad days work overall .
