Palm Sunday walk
Had thought about not walking today because of the forecast for good weather and the possibility of lots of people being about. Looked at the clock as Chris got up and it said 6.39am.
I could see the sun was up so on the spur of the moment I got up and off. Out of the house by 7.00am
I was rewarded by two deer in the open field above the village cricket ground. If you look at the background you can see how easily they can disappear. What a joy to see.
Took a different route up to the pond and had it to myself. We had no food when we were there earlier in the week but made up for it today feeding the ducks, lots of Tufted ducks today, and the Coots and Moorhens. There were also 4 very noisy Canada Geese. The remaining cygnet from last year’s brood was sat on one of the man made ‘islands’, along side a Coots nest. He looked up but didn’t move. The cob, dad, was on island patrol and busy fighting off the geese, the pen was presumably on the island on the nest. There was no one else there at all so that was fab.
Finished the walk by doing our usual Thursday walk the other way around. Amazing how much of an incline it is up to the top of the golf course. Didn’t see the Little Owl today but did see a Nuthatch. Home by 8.30 on a fabulous morning.
After breakfast I followed the Palm Sunday service on our weekly church news letter, then out into the garden.
Spent about 2 hours in the front garden, another half garden bag of weeds! The colours in the garden are looking great with some tulips coming out.
Turned a bit cloudier after lunch and I certainly wouldn’t say it was sunbathing weather here lovely as it is. I’ve been charging my iPad to do the Pilates that Kiteseeker kindly sent to me. I passed it to another Pilates friend and she did it yesterday saying it was quite tough - we’ll see. I could do it in the garden, that would give the neighbours some entertainment!
( We were due to head to Bristol today straight after the Palm Sunday service, obviously we can’t go so I’ve sent a box of things I was going to take down for Easter. I made a cardigan for Eda a while ago, she may as well have it though I doubt she’ll have anywhere to wear it at the moment. The other items are not for Eda but for her doll. The pattern is for a slightly bigger doll than hers so the dress may be a bit big but the sleep suit is 4 ply so hopefully will fit. Hope she has fun with them anyway - maybe more in the pipe line when I get feedback!)
