Day 19: N95 Masks
There are fierce opinions on this subject, and opinions are changing. First they told us we don't need them, they just make our faces sweaty. Then they said any mask is better than none. Some say if you use the mask improperly, you're a fool and you're wasting your time. Some say only medical personnel should have them. Some say at least they help you remember not to touch your face. Some say they give us a false sense of security. Some say that since we can have the infection and have no symptoms, everyone should wear them in order to at least block some of it.
We have these masks. We bought them last August for the forest fires. I called my physician and offered them to her, but she said if the box has been opened, they can't accept them. Of course the box has been opened. I got them last August. I've given two to a person who delivers groceries, two to a person who works in a grocery store, and one to a journalist. I still have a few.
We're just wearing them when we go outside.
