Wildflower: Fairy Slipper

What beautiful slippers for the fairies of the woodland!

The Latin name is Calypso bulbosa, also known as Calypso Orchid.

Although not a common sight, it is a beauty, found in shaded glens in spring through early summer, depending on altitude.
