Anthorn Lights In The Distance

This is another night shot taken from Crosby, which shows the red lights of the 13 x 227-meter radio masts at Anthorn. Anthorn has belonged to the Royal Navy, in 1943 it was a Fleet Airarm Airfield known as RNAS Anthorn, in 1944 it became HMS Nuthatch and was used to radio submarines and operational aircraft. In 2007 3x Atomic clocks were installed for Britain's national time signal transmissions.
