Life from city to village

Thank you so much for all the hearts and stars yesterday - its much appreciated. I'd forgotten how emotionally exhausting front line nursing can be - yesterday's patients have stayed in my mind today.

Today I cleaned the kitchen, and pricked out many of the lettuces. But there are still more to do. I'm not going to have to buy another lettuce this year!

I went to Lidl - and discovered they have much smaller queues, so was only waiting for 10 minutes before being able to go in. I could have waited for the NHS hour in Tesco or Aldi tomorrow, but I'd run out of milk. Some items were missing, there were no wraps, no croissants and very limited baked goods. But I got plenty of fruit and veg. I keep trying to get a delivery slot, but to no avail. Although I think one supermarket is talking about delivering to the hospital, so that might be a way forward.

Now going to pour myself a glass of wine, and sit down with my son to join a virtual pub quiz with friends on zoom.
