I was looking through some of my mother's stuff and came across Ration Books dating from when there were food shortages after the war. 

And my mother's grocery order book. She obviously made a list of what she needed and then it was delivered.

PS - is anyone else old enough to remember cod liver oil - vile stuff if I remember rightly, but there it is - little stamps to tear out from the back of my Ration Book.
