Piper Enjoying the Show
The roofing crew arrived at 7 AM. It was 22F (about -6C) and there was snow on the roof but they got right to work. Starting in the upper left corner and going clockwise, they started by blowing the snow off the roof and then spent a few hours tearing off the old the old roof down to the wood. That part was the loudest. After that, it went really fast. I forgot to take the final picture while the light was still on the roof so it's hard to see the pattern, but it looks good. :-) All the while, Piper sat out on the deck watching the action. She never even barked despite the 5 strangers pounding on the roof. Not the best watchdog but definitely a sweetheart.
After finishing the roof, the crew spent another hour cleaning up and making sure no nails or debris were left on the ground and packing up their gear. By 2 PM they were driving away. They worked like a well oiled machine and they will get great reviews from us!
To avoid the noise, I went downstairs and started on the big job of organizing the "playroom". I moved all the things that were piled on top of our exercise equipment and got everything cleaned up and working. Now we have our home gym set up again so we can work off the calories from all the little extras we've been eating!
I am grateful that the roof is done and I finally got motivated to start my big project. The other half of the room is going to take a lot longer but I have at least the rest of the month to get it done...
Take care and stay safe and well!
