The extraordinary normality
Die aussergewöhnliche Normalität
-----
One of my favorite words these days. The stress of the first days of lockdown is over and new patterns have developed and established themselves in the company and at home. Patterns that can also change again quickly.
Instead of a home office day every now and then, the new pattern is now 4:1 (4 days at home, 1 day in the office in Zurich, no further travels). In turn, there is only 1 person from the team in the office to take care of the most important things that require the use of hands. All the rest can be done remotely, at least for our team. Lots of phone calls and conferences these days. The most difficult part of phone meetings is with participants of different mother tongues and poor knowledge of the other language. In such cases, clarification and project work becomes tedious.
Privately, it is a great privilege to live in a rural environment. Social distancing is easy to maintain, there is a garden and no problem to go for a walk.
For the weekend, the authorities and the police are worried because there is beautiful spring weather expected. They are afraid that many people will want to stay outdoors and then the social distancing will not be respected in certain areas. It is considered to be the 'main rehearsal' for Easter.
