Lockdown day 20
A good day in many ways today. My back was feeling better enough for no paracetamols or anti inflammatory gel yesterday and not so sore today. Yay! I cleaned our patio but resisted working on the plants and weeding as that would have meant lots of bending over.
Next up was our washing machine, which has been playing up recently - the door opening mechanism sticking after the cycle, meaning you have to leave it for a while and sometimes run the cycle again, switch it off and wait. This week while the washing machine was going, the power cut out twice in the house. Must be a connection. And the latest thing was finding what can only be described as gritty sand in the clean clothes :-( Of course in lockdown you can’t just call someone to come in and look at it, so today I gave it some TLC and a good clean with vinegar and bicarbonate of soda, then two empty cycles - one with just vinegar and one with vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. And then cleaned the filter (my blip) - the least said about that the better. Anyway, it seems to be working again!! Did two washes and all good! I should just add that it’s not under guarantee as we bought it when we moved into this house, so around 22 years ago!! It was little used when we lived in different countries during eight years, but even so it’s not bad going and there’s life in the old lady yet! Fingers crossed!
More online learning stuff. Airbnb cancellations to deal with, and then a zoom meeting with some people in a work-related Facebook group and then a live Twitter
chat about the issues of moving face to face teacher training courses online.
Dinner was a lovely spaghetti dish by Bb, which he blipped.
