Calm (Day 1793)
It has been a busy day today, and thankfully the wind, snow, hail, sleet and rain of yesterday had disappeared by this morning.
First job of the day was to collect Bessie from her quarantine field and take her through to meet George and Jeepers at the yard in Stromness. My beautiful wife put George and Jeepers in a big field by the shore, and I walked down with Bessie. It was great to watch them meeting, and after racing around the field for a while, they all settled down.
I left HV to supervise the hosses and took the horse trailer back to the owners in Evie, then collected the dogs from home and headed back to the yard with lunch for me and HV. We took the woofers a wander in the sunshine - much more pleasant than yesterday's wander.
Horses checked again, then back home for a snooze. We finished the afternoon off with a trip to the yard again to make sure the horses were doing ok. I couldn't resist a picture of the afternoon light on Hoy.
