Clouded out
The blob to the right is Venus, the other blobs are the Pleiades. I had grand plans to take several long exposure shots and stack them to bring out the faint stars and nebulosity. Then the cloud rolled in, so I'm left with this single brief exposure through the one bit of thin cloud that appeared. It's so disappointing that I just snapped the image on my camera screen.
The weather forecast for tomorrow night, when Venus will be right amongst the star cluster, is complete cloud cover.
Astronomy is a highly frustrating pursuit, especially so here in the Pennines.
