Whitewater

Back when I was a younger man I did a fair amount of whitewater kayaking. I worked in an outdoor equipment store during my 20s and had the best of everything, including two plastic kayaks which I used every weekend. I kept one of them when we moved to Mexico and now use it to paddle on the ocean. This morning at Playa Contramar, across the bay, I thought I was back on the rivers of Washington. This normally placid channel was raging as the waves came in. I took a couple of runs through it, reliving my glory days, but quickly realizing that my skills have significantly deteriorated over the past 30 years.
