Blossom.
When the blackthorn blossoms white,
Sow your barley day and night.
So goes the old saying and I would think it may well be true this year as its now dry enough for manic drilling after a dreadful wet winter! Last hope that the Arable sector can indeed catch up.
I enjoyed a nice walk today in lovely sunny weather. It was so noticeable the changes over the past few days with a green haze beginning to appear on the hedges.
It is also very noticeable to us with no plane flying overhead . We are in the flight path for Bristol Airport so planes are part and parcel of our lives normally, but now there are none. Whilst I am sure it is really good for the environment many local jobs depend on the Airport for a living and for them it must be worrying. Let’s hope that once this is all over businesses will be able to pick up form the Corvid 19 and somehow revive them.
We now have Miss H’s Mules in for lambing. A wild and hairy bunch of highly suspicious sheep . Catching one of them in difficulty will need all my stealth skills!! Let’s hope I need to intervene!
