WfZ PHLOGS

Our first A Student, against all the odds.

1st April 2020.

So you think you are worth it, and deserve everything you have.
You have no idea how hard it is for the other 70%, or more.

She was reared by her mother only since the death of her father. She is the first born of the family of two girls. After some years her mother got married to a second husband (at which time  the woman's children are "chased"  back to their dead fathers family). Here her father's side of the family refused to take care of the two girls, so Betina and her younger sister try to live with a step father when they can, but there are some "challenges" in their living with the step father!!
Getting food at home is hard unless the step father moves out and the mother is caring these children and hiding them away.
Lucky enough the mother came to WfZ through Community Welfare Officer and we sent her her to boarding school at Zolozolo CDSS to make her safe during term time.
She is constantantly worried about her future when she finishes her form four, due to the bad habit of her step father because she depends on her mother only who is not working but sometimes she is selling charcoal as her income generation to support  the family.
Of course this will be another challenge for Wells for Zoe but I’m sure the generosity of our faithful friends all over the world will see us through as usual.

The report from school is that she is very serious and has the potential to achieve her goal.
At Saturday classes she is having excellent attendance and she is a quiet and serious girl always.
Beatha, our counselling teacher is taking care of her as well.

Look at the second picture.
I have never seen 3 A’s and 3 B’s on a result sheet before, in out Girl Child Project

She has beaten the crap out of the life she was given, and fought every inch of the way. She is a star and we will find a way get her where she wants to go.
