Our house is on this main road which in normal times is very busy, such that one has to wait a while before a gap in the traffic allows one to walk across. If it's very busy I would go to the nearby pelican crossing. Not today, the government's message has got through at last, people are taking notice and the traffic is a small fraction of its normal volume.
