After 14 days of self-isolation we got to go out again. It is quiet and the air smells fresh until a bus passes. Pubs are boarded up and shops have notices saying they are closed until this is over. Some people are out and about. There are hardly any cars. It is still quite surreal.It occurred to me that we are like those nobles that hid in their countryside palaces during the plague, lucky to be able to afford it.
