Coming home...

...after the hernia surgery. After a beautiful morning and -8°C again, the weather had turned to wet snow at zero temperature.

The appointment was at 8:30 am, but I had to wait almost until noon. Many operations have been cancelled and a part of the operating rooms are closed, perhaps some operations have been moved from the Tays main hospital to Hatanpää, so they have had some problems allocating the rooms and staff.

The operation lasted about an hour and a half. It took more than four hours after that to recover from the epidural and then some time before Triinu could pick me up.

Must add that throughout this process the staff at Hatanpää hospital has been very kind and helpful. There were students present at the operation. Funny that you could actually talk and even joke with them while being operated!

There is more pain than I expected. We'll see how the first night goes now.
