My Italian language partner, Ambra, made this screenshot of me while I was laughing at myself, no doubt failing to explain myself in a foreign language. I’ve found the trick to expressing oneself with a limited vocabulary is to keep it simple, which is a lot harder than it sounds. The more I learn about Italian, the more I learn about English. And the more I realize that we speak without thinking most of the time, because to learn a language is to think about what you are saying all the time!!
