Castle from Grove...

In 1884,the Dowager Lady Caroline Ogilvy-Grant planted a grove of 32 trees, one for every year of her son's short life. As his father, he had continued tree planting and breeding Highland cattle. Caroline inherited the estates but not the titles and for thirty years was  a local benefactor and much loved by her tenants.
This view is from the grove where I was sitting in the sun enjoying a picnic elevenses. It had been hot walking in the woods but as I climbed up the slope at the side of the Castle an icy North wind was blowing. Soon warmed up again.
