Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

2020 Monday — closed

The beach parking lot at the pier is closed and technically the whole beach is closed. This past weekend, one of my girlfriends responded to the sadness I was writing about by advising us to get out and walk the beach. I wrote then to explain the closure and she responded, “Holy shit Carol, the whole world is closed.” That’s not exactly how I would state it, but I grasp her sentiment.

Today we watched several YouTube videos from Dr. Duc Dvuong, a 47 year old physician/surgeon from Houston. He explained in simple terms a lot about this current virus from China and that we have several months of very careful living and isolation as much as possible because of it. He was interesting and very informative, but his use of the “F”-word is definitely not necessary.

We also learned today that 2.3 billion people globally are on lockdown. That’s us! So that we can flatten the curve and slow the spread of this disease.

Meanwhile, it was reported yesterday that Wuhan resumed selling bats and all the other weird stuff in their wet market.

So, if anyone is taking roll call, we are reporting in. We are well. We are running out of TP and our refrigerator and pantry are becoming bare. We return to SoCal this coming Thursday. The house there is stocked — the freezer is full and the pantry is too. We are still extremely sad and the death of Max dog has been devastating.

Stay home!
Rosie (& Mr. Fun, and Chloe & Mitzi)

P.S. Our two girl dogs, especially Mitzi, know that Max is gone. Mitzi appears to be depressed and we are giving her extra attention to get through this sadness.
