Amid the glass stumps
Breakfast meeting on the 38th floor of the Gherkin, and a chance to admire the view (not). Pouring with rain with the cloud base obscuring the tops of the City's tallest skyscrapers.
The Gherkin event is normally packed to the doors with every table well populated. The coronavirus pandemic, however, is having an effect. We were told several people had sent apologies for non-attendance, citing their companies' bans on non-essential travel and meetings. As a result, the room got shuffled round a bit, with a couple of tables completely emptied (not sure that clumping people together is the right way to deal with a virus situation).
Afterwards returned to the ExCEL centre for the final day of FutureBuild. Attendances definitely down on the opening day, with some of the seminar theatres barely able to muster an audience for some sessions.
Handshakes seem to be out of favour - more fist-pumps and elbow knocks than anything else.
