Almost oven ready
The ham just needs glazing (mustard and dark brown sugar in this case) before baking in the oven.
Not an exciting blip - it has been another busy lockdown day - but I will try and do better tomorrow.
My daughter has also kept herself busy. Her elderly Samsung tablet was giving trouble - only charging intermittently. She decided to buy a replacement battery and a replacement USB charging port and yesterday took the tablet apart to install the replacement parts. It took a little while, but she managed to replace both (although the battery connector was a little reluctant to slot into place). However, during the repair a small piece of plastic with metal strips dropped out from somewhere and we could not work out where it had come from. In the end she decided to put the tablet back together (minus the piece of plastic) to see if it would still work. After charging overnight, the tablet was completely dead, so today she took it apart again and re-installed the old battery (the connector slotted in easily) and put it back together again (minus the plastic piece, but with the new USB charging port still in place). Now it charged properly and the tablet worked fine - except that the wifi reception was very poor. This suggested that the mystery piece of plastic had something to do with the wifi aerial. This piece of information was enough to identify it on Google and to work out where it belonged. So, once again, she took the tablet apart, installed the piece of plastic in the correct place, and put everything back together again. Now it is working just fine (and she has a spare battery which she may be able to install if the old one dies).
I think she has a future in repairing consumer electronics!
