Lawn Edging

Today I spent a lot of time in the garden. This morning I tidied up and fed my Pyracantha hedge and this afternoon I mowed and edged the lawn - you might have guessed that tomorrow is my garden waste collection day!  Today I was expecting two deliveries, for one this was the third date given and for the other (my raised bed kit) it was the second - neither turned up.

After two weeks of restrictions and a full week of lockdown you can definitely see a trend in how people staying at home are affected. The initial reaction was mostly shock and disbelief, then slight resistance, then resignation. I am concerned that even with the increased testing, we are still substantially behind what testing is needed in order to get better control of CV as some countries have.

Day 15 / Day 7 of Lockdown (for my record only)
UK deaths up 180 to 1,408 (rate of new hospital admissions are thought to be slowing as a result of the restrictions; 9,000 people in hospital with CV in England; it is thought than only 2-3% of people in the UK have been infected); Italy up 812 to 11,591 and Spain up 812 to 7,340 (measures tightened and only essential staff to go to work). Trump extends social distancing restrictions until the end of April.

20,000 ex NHS staff have returned to work. Mercedes F1 team help to create a developed a breathing aid for patients with CV. EasyJet ground their entire fleet. Prince Charles out of self isolation. Dominic Cummings is in self isolation with symptoms. Maybe a third of people with CV have no symptoms. Plans in place to fly home tens of thousands of Britons stranded abroad.
