Take Your Pick!

There is a wonderful old General Merchant's in Kirkwall, which sells everything from fire grates to cake decorations, from lemons to rifles! Today we went in to refill our washing up liquid bottle - as you do - and in amongst the bird seed display I came across these!

I have bought Ollie the Pigs' Ears in the past, but Coos' Lugs are a new one on me! They also had pigs' snouts (35p each) and what were euphemistically described as "filled hooves". I'm afraid I didn't investigate further! I agree that if we are going to kill animals for food then we should use the whole beast, but still it made me feel a little queasy seeing such quantities of once living animals. Is this a sign of getting older . . . ? Oh lordy!
