High wire act

1. Today is all about bravery. There's this we fella a-danglin in the Trongate to start us off. I spot him after a meeting in the very cool Gmac offices at Trongate 103.

2. But everything else today is about the Traverse fifty. We arrive rushed and hungry but soon settle in. Three hours of theatre. Brand new theatre. A genius stroke of programming and a logistical mountain to climb I imagine.

3. It starts with a magical hole in the roof, ends at Holyrood with everything from Trams to tadpoles in between. No Burns, even today, but Walter Scott makes an appearance or two.

4. Which is rather lovely as to our complete delight we discover our hotel room is overlooked by the Scott monument. It's possibly the best view from a hotel room I've ever had.

5. And then there's M8. Number six on the list, with Scott and Paul doing brilliantly. Bringing alive Colin's first work on the professional stage.
