Lockdown day 15
Exciting day as it was the weekly shopping day. Bb had to go again as my back isn't up to pulling a trolley or carrying heavy bags and he was delighted to do it anyway. The only things he couldn't get were mushrooms, ginger, carrots and cheddar cheese (the latter isn't always available anyway). Given what we've read and heard about from friends this week, we decided to 'up' the washing regime when he returned. He unloaded everything from the trolley and shopping bag onto our patio table. He sprayed and wiped down all the bottles on the table and I filled the kitchen sink and washed everything else in there: tins, jars, packets, fruit and veg. All the cardboard packaging we binned. A bit of a palaver, but it didn't actually take too long. While doing it, my thoughts switched between, 'are we going mad and is this really necessary?' and 'we'll feel better after doing this'. I wish I could say I was giving thanks for it all like Kendallishere does, but I haven't reached that state yet, sadly. Sorry Kendall. We didn't need too much fresh fruit and veg this week as we still have stuff to use from last week's shop, so here it is, all washed and rinsed. There was some more, packaged, in Bb's blip.
Dinner, for the third Saturday in a row was a simple cheese board with a little chorizo, crusty bread, grapes, pate and red wine. It's one of our favourites!
We had a zoom meet up with Nigel and Mireia at lunchtime today. Good to see them and catch up with their news. They live in the centre of Barcelona, near the Arc de Triumph and the view from their flat is usually a bustling scene with noise and movement 24 hours. Very different those days. I'd love to see it!
Watched a film at night called 'The Keepers', set in Scotland and one we found in the offering of our Movistar package. It started off well, great cast, but a bit too much violence for me and so I retreated to our little library area.
At the end of the day, my back felt a bit looser. Fingers crossed!
