Afternoon Romance

I knew I had to walk down to the heron rookery again today. So after lunch I got my big camera ready (Lumix G9) with my big lens (equiv 200-800) and headed down to Post Point Park where the herons nest. I took a bunch of photos of pairs as they readied their nests and did a bit of playing around between loads of branches for their nest. In the extras are two more photos of this pair. While I was photographing the herons a young Cooper's Hawk flew in and settled on a branch quite close to where I was standing. So I took his or her photo too. It felt like old times except I did make sure the walkers and bikers who passed me stayed at least 6 feet away.
