Bonsai repotting
In the early 1990s N bought his first bonsai, a juniper about 15years old. Since then, his hobby has gone from strength to strength and he now has about 50 bonsai, many of which he has grown from seed or saplings. Every two years he has to repot them and today was the day. In this photo he is about to trim the roots of an oak grown in a windswept style, before repotting it.
While he was doing this, I was busy elsewhere in the garden doing a bit of weeding. I turned just to put some of the offending weeds into my bucket when ........ ouch, something happened to my back and that was me out of action for the rest of the day. I am not prone to back problems so I hope that, after a day of rest, I will be back in action tomorrow. Except, I will have one hour less in bed tonight!
