Going home?

On our two hour walk this morning (far from the madding crowd) we came across this field of geese. They will by now be checking their passports , travel plans and all that before returning to the north of Scandinavia/Russia for the long summer days.
On our way we crossed the motorway, usually already busy by 9.30am. There was not a car or lorry in sight in either direction! See today’s extra photo.
